Pattern of Visits

Antenatal

During your pregnancy I would like to see you approximately once a month until 28 weeks, then once a fortnight until 36 weeks, then once a week until baby is born. This schedule is flexible and can change based on your needs, but it is a good general pattern that allows us to get to know each other well by the time your baby is born.

In labour

I can visit you at home in early labour if you’re not sure whether it’s go-time yet, or we can meet at your birthing facility of choice.

Postnatal

If you stay in a local facility after the birth, I (or my partners) will visit you there every day until you leave. Once you are at home, I will visit every day or two for a few days until you feel ready for me to space the visits out to twice a week, then once a week until discharge at approximately 6 weeks after the birth.
